Role & responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage medical retinal disorders including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vein occlusions, central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), uveitis, and macular edema.
- Conduct comprehensive retinal examinations using slit lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmoscopy.
- Interpret and correlate diagnostic imaging including OCT, FFA, Fundus Photography, B-scan, and OCT-A.
- Perform intravitreal injections (Anti-VEGF, steroids) independently with strict aseptic protocols.
- Manage retinal laser procedures (PRP, focal/grid laser) as per clinical indications.
- Coordinate with Vitreoretinal Surgeons for surgical referrals when required.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure counseling to patients and attendants.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to medico-legal standards.
- Participate in diabetic eye screening programs and community outreach camps.
- Ensure compliance with NABH protocols, infection control, and patient safety guidelines.
- Contribute to departmental revenue targets through ethical practice and high patient satisfaction.
- Engage in CMEs, case discussions, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred candidate profile
- MS/MD/DNB Ophthalmology (Mandatory)
- Fellowship in Medical Retina / Vitreoretinal Diseases (Preferred)
- Valid NMC / State Medical Council Registration
