Role & responsibilities
Research & Innovation:
- Conduct and oversee community-based research on prevalent eye conditions.
- Develop and implement AI-driven diagnostic tools tailored to regional needs.
- Analyse research outcomes to inform clinical practices and innovation strategies.
Education & Professional Development:
- Design and manage Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for healthcare staff.
- Oversee fellowship programs for new ophthalmologists/ optometrist.
- Promote a culture of lifelong learning and skill enhancement across the organization.
Partnerships & Grants
- Build strategic collaborations with academic institutions and research bodies.
- Identify grant opportunities, secure funding, and coordinate research publications.
- Represent hospital in conferences, workshops, and research forums.
Institutional Impact
- Translate research findings into practical, evidence-based interventions.
- Support the CEO and Leadership team in strategic decision-making based on research insights.
- Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of education and research initiatives.
Preferred candidate profile
Education: Postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or related field. PhD or research experience is preferred.
Experience: 5-10 years in research, education, or innovation roles in healthcare, academic, or NGO environments. Experience in ophthalmology or eye care is highly desirable.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with knowledge of ophthalmology or public health research.
• Experience in educational program design and implementation.
• Ability to lead innovation initiatives, including AI or digital tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for academic and leadership forums.
