Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage critically ill patients in ICU under the guidance of senior consultants
- Assist in and gradually take responsibility for ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and life support care
- Perform/assist in basic critical care procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, ABG sampling, etc.
- Monitor patient progress, interpret investigations, and initiate timely interventions
- Participate actively in ICU rounds, case discussions, and clinical decision-making
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and treatment plans
- Work closely with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
- Respond to emergency situations and Code Blue calls effectively
- Communicate with patients’ families regarding clinical updates under supervision
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control practices, and NABH/JCI standards
- Participate in clinical audits, M&M meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in academic activities, teaching sessions, and continuous learning programs
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- MD/DNB in Anaesthesia / General Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine with DM/DNB/Fellowship in Critical Care
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in managing ICU patients in a reputed hospital setup
- Strong expertise in ventilator management, invasive monitoring, and critical care procedures
- Proven ability to handle high-acuity, multi-organ failure, and emergency cases independently
- Experience in leading ICU teams and supervising junior doctors and nursing staff
- Sound knowledge of clinical protocols, infection control practices, and NABH/JCI standards
- Excellent decision-making skills under pressure and ability to manage crisis situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient/family counselling
- Exposure to clinical audits, quality initiatives, and documentation practices
- Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient safety
- Candidates with experience in corporate hospitals or large multi-specialty setups preferred
